Learn To Play The Musical Saw

The Cutting Edge of Traditional Music

Thom Eno has been playing and teaching the musical saw for 25 years. The origins of the musical saw are obscure, but it was heard from lumber camps to music halls in its heyday.  With the help of Chris and Ruth Sorensen, Thom teaches beginners how to play three songs, lumberjack style (with a mallet). The only requirement is the ability to carry a tune. Wentworth tenor and baritone saw are available in the workshops or bring your own favorite hand saw. The workshop includes demonstrations, saw techniques, and as much history as Thom can make up.

$10 entry fee. Up to 12 people can participate in each workshop.
