Can a hot dog stop a saw!? SawStop table saws detect contact with skin, stopping the blade and removing it from the table surface in less than five milliseconds. They sense a slight electrical current that human fingers (and hot dogs) create. When it senses the current, the saw triggers a safety brake, which stops the blade in less than 5/1,000th of a second. The Tool Haus in Gladwin, MI is sponsoring this demonstration, which will be performed by Department Head Zack Fealk 4 times during the festival:
